Our Purpose:
It is our wish to bring the Art of Bagua Quan/ Daoyin to all who are interested in order to impact their lives, and others, in a positive way. Bagua teaches change, it teaches the ability to be fluid, it teaches the practitioner about self-awareness and how to balance internal energies. Thus the Art is considered healing and restorative.
The way in which we plan to achieve our goal will be to organize yearly seminars here in Sedona, AZ, and inspire those participants to study regularly. These seminars will provide an opportunity to study the Art of Bagua Quan/Daoyin as taught by Master He Jinghan, a 5th Generation Bagua Quan/Daoyin practitioner, and teacher. Bagua Daoyin is taught and practiced by few in the world, it is our hope to keep this Art alive and to continue to pass the many benefits to all who wish to learn.
What is Bagua Daoyin:
Bagua Daoyin is part of the training methods that belong to Bagua Quan (internal skill-neigong). Bagua Quan/Daoyin originated from the refinement of Daoist studies, into the training of the mind, body, and spirit. Bagua Quan/Daoyin is conceptually based upon an ancient diagram called the Bagua which is symbolized by eight trigrams, this diagram forms the I-Ching. The Bagua itself and its philosophies are said to date back to the era of Fu Xi approximately 4,500 years ago.
Bagua Quan/Daoyin in short, is a highly advanced system of stances, postures and movements that stretch, open and close the body. Through these exercises, the skeletal and muscular connections create and open pathways which direct and guide Qi, thus positively affecting the practitioner in a very complete and internal way.
Bagua Quan/Daoyin is unique from other Arts in that it incorporates circle walking with the movements. These exercises open and strengthen the body and return it to its natural state of openess. Bagua Quan/Daoyin also presents profound philosophical, and metaphysical concepts. These concepts are beyond the conceptual mind. Through regular practice and study the treasures of the Art will be revealed.
